Introduction To Vision Screening
The South Carolina Lions Clubs have teamed up with school nurses and administrators to provide a more comprehensive vision screening. Using these screening devices, trained Lion volunteers can now screen for a multitude of eye risk factors and conditions beyond the eye chart results. Current data has shown that an average of 14% of children screened using these advanced devices have a vision problem that needs to be addressed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Lions’ services are provided free of charge to any school or organization in need of vision screening. Vision Screening is the most popular, and growing, service activity provided by Lions in South Carolina as we continue our quest to improve a child’s chances of learning through early sight intervention. If you are interested in learning more about vision screening at your school or organization, and having Lions provide this free service, please submit a contact request form. A South Carolina Lions Club member will respond to your request.
